When she got aboard the ocean liner, in the summer of '35, Linda was ready to sail about anywhere. Still, she couldn't have imagine that one flip of a coin and the cozy smile of a retired sailor would get her from New York right to that little harbor, at the borders of Europe.
She knew she made a mistake the very day she set foot ashore and met the natives: a frenzy assortment of Romanians, Greeks, Turks and Jews. They were all gathered on the quay to welcome the rich American that was surely destined to restore their gone prosperity.
Only this American was broke, hoping for a change of luck herself, looking for a place to settle.
Not this place.
Linda and the locals clashed and fought but, eventually, they all got something out of it.
They kept their poverty, happy not to share it with anybody else, while the she had to leave, in order to preserve the one thing she got:
a magical love story with a teenager like no other
Vara lui 1935. Dupa multi ani petrecuti pe oceanele lumii, un marinar se intoarce in orasul natal, un port de la varsarea Dunarii in mare. Omul face acest ultim drum pe apa ca pasager la clasa I a unui luxos transatlantic.
Dar nu va ajunge niciodata acasa.
Printr-un straniu concurs de imprejurari, debarca in locul lui o frumoasa americana, o femeie fara capatai, intalnita de el pe vasul de croaziera.
Venita cu gandul de a ramane, femeia se va confrunta cu oamenii locului si va sfarsi prin a se lupta cu disperare sa scape din micul port uitat de lume.
Nu va reusi.
Va trai, in schimb, o magica poveste de iubire cu un adolescent devenit barbat inainte de vreme.
